Orthly Invisible Aligners
Nope! Someone might notice them if they pay really close attention, but by and large it's very hard to tell someone is wearing Orthly aligners.
There are three major ingredients in Orthly aligner therapy that sets us apart
Honest, affordable pricing With Orthly, there are no hidden fees, no complex payment structures, and we never evade questions on pricing. Simple cases lasting fewer than 8 months without the need for medical preparation are $1,900 while those cases lasting over 8 months or requiring medical prep are $2,600. That's it.
Superior supervision Many aligner companies today are encouraging a "do-it-yourself" model of treatment in which patients never actually see a real dentist. Some even will let general dentists without an orthodontic certification create their patients' treatment plans. At Orthly, all patients are inspected and approved for treatment by a real, tangible dentist, and all Orthly treatment plans are created by board-certified orthodontists. Moreover, if you have any problems along your smile journey that require medical intervention, there's an Orthly dentist available to help in-person.
Quality customer support Our concierge-style support team is consistently at your side, every day of the year - no exceptions. No matter what questions or concerns you have along the way, we're there to help. You can even drop us a line now to get a taste.
The first few days wearing each new aligner can feel a little tender or sore, as your mouth get adjusted to the new fit of the aligner. However, if you experience serious pain lasting more than a few days, contact our support team ASAP, and we will get you in touch with your dentist. Just because your mouth stops hurting after the first few days, doesn't mean your aligners stop working, however. Your teeth will continue to move as you wear your aligners.
The Orthly mobile app will show a 3D preview of your future smile 3-5 business days after your snapshot. Book your snapshot now!
Orthly's invisible aligners have a trim line called, in ortho-speak, a "flowing scallop," which is not a move in professional ice skating. A flowing scallop has the aesthetic benefit of a scalloped edge, which fits to your teeth at the gumline and looks more natural, with the clinical benefits of a straight trim line. A straight trim line allows your aligners to exert more pressure on your teeth, which shortens treatment time, and negates the need for attachments or buttons, which add time and expense to your treatment and frankly look awful. Flowing scallop allows your orthodontist to create a convenient, affordable treatment plan with all the aesthetic benefits of more natural looking curved aligners.
In most cases, wisdom teeth aren't a problem in pursuing invisible aligner treatment. As part of your snapshot, your Orthly provider will take an x-ray (in addition to your impression) to make sure your wisdom teeth will not cause problems in your treatment. If your wisdom teeth do interfere with getting invisible aligners, your Orthly provider can help you find treatment options.
Before you can purchase Orthly aligners, you need to book a snapshot appointment so we can get an impression of your teeth.
No. Attachments can be unsightly, and require additional office visits (expensive AND annoying). Instead, we use a thicker trim line, the edge of your aligner that meets your gums, to allow your aligners to exert more force on your teeth.
Your treatment will be available for you to view and approve 3-5 business days after your snapshot appointment.
On average, Orthly patients receive 8 months of treatment. However, our unique treatment process allows us to treat more complex cases than many of our competitors, with our longest case lasting 14 months.
Orthly invisible aligners are a medical treatment, and as with most medical treatment it is impossible to guarantee results. However, we are seriously committed to making sure every patient it happy with their smile: if at the end of treatment you're not satisfied contact us and we will work with your care team and do everything we can to make sure you're thrilled with your new smile.
Orthly is currently only available in Pennsylvania and Virginia, but we are constantly adding more providers to our network, so stay tuned.

No, snapshots are totally commitment-free! Out of respect for our dentist's time, we ask that you do show up, however. As such, we take a small deposit when you schedule your snapshot which is refunded to you during the appointment as long as you show up.
One of the best parts about Orthly treatment is our comprehensive snapshot. The dentist will inspect your mouth and bite and take an X-ray to ensure treatment will be safe for you. After that, they'll take some photos and a 3D impression of your teeth, which will be used by the orthodontist assigned to your case to create your treatment plan.
Absolutely nothing! Because your snapshot is conducted by a licensed dentist, we'll take care of everything for you.
Orthly patients fall into two categories: mild to moderate and complex (more than x months). Mild to moderate cases cost $1,900, while complex cases cost $2,600. Most of our patients are mild to moderate cases.
We offer great financing options through our partnership with Affirm, where patients can choose to pay for their aligner treatment in 6, 12 and 24 month installments. Mild to moderate cases start at $88/month and complex cases start at $122/month.
Simple treatment is applicable to you if your case can be treated in 8 months or less AND you don't need any dental procedures performed prior to treatment (e.g. fillings).
No, we offer a payment plan! Through our partnership with Affirm, we offer flexible payment options with six, twelve and 24 month repayment options. Simply select "Pay with Affirm" when you purchase your aligners. For example, with an Affirm 24-month installment plan, mild-moderate treatment can costs just $88/month.
Yes you can!
We accept both FSA and HSA cards. If your dental insurance plan includes orthodontic coverage, you can file a claim with your insurer and receive reimbursement.
Yes! Your first retainer is free, while each additional retainer is $99.
Within 2-3 weeks after you purchase, your sequence of aligners will arrive at your doorstep. You may also have a follow-up appointment with your orthly provider before your being wearing your aligners to Simply wear each set for two weeks, then switch to the next. You will also submit monthly progress photos using the orthly mobile app so your supervising Orthly providers can monitor your treatment.
Although you'll visit one of our partner general dentists for your snapshot appointment, it is ultimately a board-certified orthodontist who will craft your treatment plan. These two professionals will monitor your treatment to ensure your teeth are aligning properly and that no hygienic issues prevent you from having a confident, healthy smile at the end of your treatment.
Your aligners will arrive between 2-3 weeks after your purchase date. You will be able to purchase as soon as your Orthly snapshot appointment is complete. If you want more information before purchasing, patients receive a complimentary 3D smile preview 5-7 days after their appointment.
You'll change your aligners once every two weeks.
22 hours per day, every day! Your aligners can't straighten your teeth if they're not in your mouth, and our 2-week rotation plan is counting on you to be an aligner-wearing machine.
Yes, please clean your aligners regularly. They're in your mouth all day! To clean your aligners, just run them through cool water. For a deep clean, use toothpaste and a toothbrush and lightly scrub for that fresh clean feeling.
First, use the Orthly cheek retractor included with your aligners to make sure you smile wide. Then, simply open up the Orthly mobile app and start snapping!
You may be prescribed an additional appointment for IPR, fillings, or other in-person procedures needed to optimize your smile. Most patients will have only one of these appointments.
Contact us. We will work with your orthodontist and dentist to determine if you can simply wear the next tray or if we need to issue a replacement tray.
Interproximal reduction, or IPR, is a quick, painless procedure in which your Orthly provider shaves off tiny amounts of enamel from the sides of your teeth to make room for your aligners. It is not only necessary for many treatment cases, but it also makes your treatment faster and easier with better results in the end. Most of the time, all you have to do is come in a second time after your snapshot appointment to knock out that IPR in one sitting.
No, please keep them! Although rare, occasionally you may need to re-wear an old aligner. One advantage of having dentists and orthos directly involved in your care is correcting issues and addressing them, in the rare case they arise.
After your snapshot, your x-rays, photos and 3D impression are sent to a board certified orthodontist, who will use that information to craft a fully customized treatment plan for your teeth. That treatment plan will then be approved by the same Orthly provider you saw, in person, at your snapshot, to make sure it fully addresses all of your needs. After 3-5 business days, your treatment plan and Future Smile will be available for you to review and approve in the Orthly mobile app.
All Orthly treatment plans are made by board certified orthodontists with experience in treating malocclusion, never general dentists.
I'm just a computer, I am not sure! Generally speaking, if you don't have any major periodontal issues you should be clear for treatment. Schedule a snapshot to find out if you're eligible by clicking here. A license dentist or orthodontist will see you in person and make sure invisible aligner treatment is right for you.
No worries! Contact our Support Team and we'll get you set up with a new one.
Although there's no hard limit on how long you can wear a retainer, we generally recommend changing them once every 6 months as they can wear out and accumulate bacteria.
After you receive your aligners, you will be able to track your treatment progress in the Orthly mobile app.
